Very nice picture, coming from holland myself I know the island of marken, which is near Volendam. I have never seen such an tranquil dramatic picutre ofthe island , where I think photographically it is quite sound, well-balanced and such.
A word of crituque though...I can't help but wondering why all of these picutres look the same? Just to be clear, I can clearly see that the author has the technique well covered, but when one knows the elements, the tend to all look the same.
I see, a foreground interest as well in the background, there are lines that pull the viewer into the picture from front to back, there's a good tonal range, good contrast, nice colours, a coldish hue to emphasize the weather, balance left to right with the beach/clouds. Low shutterspeed blurred the water to make the picutree relaxing to watch to, off-center placement of main subject/rule of thirds. All in all a very good use of all elements that make up a good picture, but I only see so many of these pictures, I'd like to see more of a feel of marken, this could be anywhere potentially.
