I haven't read the entire thread - life is too short - but I'll just state my own position. I agree with the idea of limiting the number of uploads in a given time-frame (whatever that may be). May I make 2 further suggestions aimed at increasing feedback: first, that the front page of the site be devoted to newest uploads, pretty much as is done on the 'photos' page of another site(why are we so coy about naming it?). Second that there be more than one 'front page', so to speak - to put that more clearly, that there be a number of pages devoted to various categories of photo (street, landscape, whatever), and that users can categorise their pics and these then appear on these special pages as well as on the front page. Limit of 3 categories per photo I imagine.

Why do the elves write their POW intros in the form of questions?
Are they trying to make me feel I'm reading a highschool edition of a
Great Work that I should prepare for the end of term test? Do you
think that this approach is perhaps a little patronizing? Would you
like them to stop? If they do stop, what should they do instead?
