Yuan Yang is famous for its seamless paddy fields and mist or sea
clouds as the China photographers like to call it.
The ray beams in the image were real, not created in post production.
I had however, enhanced the image using the basics tools, such as
level, cloning, curve etc.

Thanks for spending time evaluating the image, it was much appreciated. However, I find your cropped version a bit tight and cram for my taste. I thought by introducing more space on the left, it would improve the mood and intensified the softness of the mist.
Anyway thanks for commenting.

Thanks for the comment Adrien. I know what you were talking about, somehow, I find after increasing the brightness, the image became lacked of drama.

I like the composition, but I was wondering why not just tone it into b/w completely? Just my personal observation though.

I like the image either the left or the right, leaning more towards the one on the left.
My question is, "Why two?"

I like this image! The moment I opened it, I could immediately feel the gaze of the young lady and there and then is where the image connects to me. The look is deep...
Frankly, if I had not read the remarks about the postproduction work, I couldn't notice them, I guess I was blinded by her gaze, anyway, are those "flaws" really that critical?

I concured with what Keith has said. I don't quite get it either, it must be me.
The other thing is, I am a tad disturb by the shadow cast on the sailor's shoulder. It appears to me as though his shoulder was kinda "cropped" off.
I am also not too sure of darkening the borders either.....

Very interesting photo Tim! However, I don't know why but I find the top portion of the image a bit distracting, the same goes to the beam crossing the subject's head.
The reflection OTOH is just great!

When I opened photo.net this morning, my first impression when I saw this image was "What a powerful Image!"
There are images you see and forget the minutes after, but some will haunt you for a long time, this one is just it!

What a wonderful shot! One of finest I have seen here! Talk about preseverance, luck, timing, etc. etc. to get the two birds "posed" in such position!

Great image! This looks like a painting to me!

WoooooooooooooooW!

Interesting idea! Hmmmm but I wonder the flaws on the knife and scissors, was it intentional? The red ball could be redder.
