    Tree at Sunset

Thank you. No, I did not use any reflectors. I've spot metered the brightest spot on the tree, knowing it will underexpose a bit. I took several shots while the sun was descending.
  1. Thank you for comments and nice words.

About the digital sensor: I was reading the other day about it's physics and I wasn't so surprised to find out that the color of one pixel in the final image is obtain by interpolating the information of several adiacent cells from the sensor. So the digital processing takes place right at the moment you take the picture. I don't know if the interpolation losses information, but I would imagine so. There is a new chip coming out (Foveon?) that will have 3 layers of photo cells, and no interpolation will be neccessary.

  2. I used two exposures to make the final image, at 2 stops difference.

Is the luminosity of the buildings properly chosen? Do you feel they

need more detail (3 stops from sky) or maybe they are too bright (1

    stop from sky)?

  3. Thanks, Chris. I'm inclined lately towards subtle colors and moods and not so much towards strong statements. I'm only sorry that I cannot enlarge them enough to have a fully experience later...
  4. Thank you all for taking the time to comment on the shot! I had this in mind for some time before I had the chance to shot it.

My intention was to say "Stop for a second and notice the beauty of nature, right here in the city!"

I included the poll to accentuate the perspective and the spatial depth. Without it, seems that something is missing from the frame...
