1. Greetings,

I do use permawash as studio-clearing bath, and then I simply immerse the negative in a bath of Heico NH-5 hardener only (0.5 oz in 24 oz of plain water). Would it be necessary to add the fixer to the hardener's solution?

    Thank you.

  2. Well, they specifically stated that it is designed for the 67II. But I can't answer for sure...I don't know. Meanwhile I decided to get a center column for my gitzo to obviate my problem. Perhaps youre rightThe L bracket is a great idea, but it wouldnt work for me. I don't think I would feel comfortable to screw and unscrew that clamp. Maybe on a quicker release.

    Best,

  3. Have you seen the new L-Bracket on Kirks website?

Do you thing that L-skeleton will well support the P67II in the

vertical position? It looks a little pretentious to me, but I can be

    wrong...

    Regards,

  4. Hi,

Is there anyone experienced with the Mamiya RB shooting with the 6x8

back? Please post impression. I don't understand why this format is

not well advertised by the company...Is there something that we

should know before buying it? Thank you.

  5. ....interesting; like you I think I'm one of the few using the Markins head. Do you think that with another head, like the ArcaSwiss, we would have head the same problem? Other then that the head has been really terrific.

    Thank you for posting.

  6. Hi,

Frankly... I would prefer to simply tilt my ballhead to the left.

But it's often too awkward to do that. So I'm trying to investigate

the possibility of purchasing the before mentioned L-bracket from

KirkPhoto. I'm concerned of adding weight to the system; and from

what I can see it looks a little cumbersome.

Is there anyone experienced that would comment on this camera plate?

    Thank you very much.

  7. Dear Garry Edwards,

Thank you for your fulfilling post.

Always I have been puzzled by that phenomenon.

I simply visually compared prints made my 200mm Nikon, 200mm P67 and 210mm Schneider LF; and the out of focus look is very different.

If true that this effect differs even between brand-makers of same camera size negative,

this phenomenon could also affect the choice of one brand lens over another.

    Regards,

  8. Hi,

I assume that two lenses of different focal length at the same aperture will give a different out of focus look. So assuming that I shoot with a 100mm MF lens and a 100mm LF lens, using the same aperture for both, Ill have the same look effect of the image out of the plane of focus; Am I wrong here?

Im not talking about the DoF itself, but just the look the softness and smoothness of the out of plane of focus images, like the look that makes the LF images so recognizable.

Do also brand-makers or lens-camera construction-size affect that Out of Focus Look?

    Thank you

  9. Hi,

I'm thinking to purchase a Pentax 75mm shift lens. Before I do that I

would like to know what is the minimum distance that would be in

focus when all the way to infinity.

Also I'm curious to know if those measurements are the same when you

compare the 55mm lens with the 55-100mm zoom lens (positioned at

55mm). Sorry for my English, I would really appreciate your expertise.

    Thank you

  10. Hello,

Is there a way to see if actually my Pentax Digital Spotmeter has been modified by Zone VI for real?

It doesnt have the typical Zone Scale on it and that makes me wonder; it only has a simple label attached to the handle that says: modified Zone VI Studios.

    Thanks for suggestion.

    Al.

  11. Hello to everyone,

I broke my first ground glass (the first glass toward me) of my Toyo VX125.

Is there a risk of focus shift doing this replacement?

Do I need to go to an expert?

    Thank you.

  12. Hi,

I would like to know what's the weight and dimension of a Toyo 4x5 binocular reflex hood and the Horseman folding binocular is.

I cant find this information anywhere, and I would appreciate some inputs.

    Thank you so much.
