I have been a pair of you gave was and last night observe, before my stupor, that someone this haciedo rating in my name, giving, above all, notes bajisimas, without ningun type of criterion neither consideracion, to photos that I, I assure him you, I have not seen. Never I put 3 neither 2. When someone rises a photo is because considers it good, if I do not grasp the motive I think that is problem mio, by see not what has wanted trasmitir the author, not of the author. Ademas, I consider that those scorings are utilized often as punishment, by things that nothing they have to they do with the estetica, tecnica and originality of the photo. Good, therefore the person that usurps my name has been entertained in distributing almost 800 scorings of this type, for which to imagine you the cabreos that this generating the cuestion. I have written al webmaster to see if can be fixed the situacion. In the meantime, you request me indiqueis the photos that, supposedly, I have stolen in these three ultimos you gave, to try to fix the situacion in the measure of the possible thing.

PD. Causing to know in my finalizes photo or in my briefcase. Please if someone can translate me this text al groins himself him agradeceria a lot.

  2. I apologize for not being able to help you, however you might find a better and more productive response from one of the "General Photography," "Digital Darkroom" or "Digital Cameras" forums.

This Forum is reserved for questions/comments/complaints/concerns in regards to the operation of Photo.net

  3. Craig, it sounds like it might very well be a conflict with previously cached data from Photo.net on your personal computer. I'd reccomend emptying out all of your "Temp" and "Temporary Internet Files" directories.

With the hundreds of thousands of visitors and members viewing this sight daily, I imagine that the remote few incidents (such as what you have experienced) are likely a localized problem.

  4. I'm really not calling this a scam, but more of a concern

Well I'm pretty sure that you're title PN subscription...a scam?! implies that you (the subject-writer) presume the staff of Photo.net to be scamming you.

Have you tried contacting Brian directly (as per the suggestion that many seasoned veterens here have offered)?

A suggestion from myself; have you checked your bank statement to ensure that your check has actually been cashed?

  5. The system with the photo database crashed and in the process of coming back up the software seems to have deleted the entire photo database except for photos numbered less than 700000, meaning the most recent half million images are gone

Too bad...I'd like to see Photo.net treated in the same manner that the Universe is theoretically believed to act: implode upon itself over a period of time and then grow and expand...only to implode upon itself, followed by a period of growth and expansion...yadda yadda. Of course some sort of decision to make as to the frequency of the implosions.

This seems to be a much more appropriate method for teaching your 7 year old the basics of photography.

Be advised, Ray. There are hundreds of thousands of websites on the internet that say absolutely nothing about being "Not Safe for Children." If you want to open your 7 year old to the internet, then you shall have to take responsibility for explaining/protecting your child from what you want to censor. Photo.net's unpaid voluntary staff cannot keep an eye out for things like that for your child.

  7. I know this goes against the standard on this website, but I choose not to participate with the numerical rating system.

The way I've seen it, there tends to be two dominant categories of people who participate in the Photo Critique Forum:
Category A - The people who leave the first comment on their own photograph, begging "Rate this Photograph!!!"
and Category B - The people who are genuinely looking for help or tips on their work.

My own practice, and advice, is to ignore Category A and focus on Category B...though I'm guilty of not frequenting the Photo Critique Forum much these days.

  8. Armando?

That cynical comment was made in the direction of Art, as in Art Haykin.

I never made any reference to the people who make grammatical mistakes on this website.

How many languages can you communicate fluently in? Ends my point.

And to answer your question, since you were so quick to judge: I fluently speak English and Spanish, and am working on German and a little Russian on the side.
