VERY well put Jeff. I agree 100%. Being involved in film and video as well as photography, I know what it takes to execute these kind of shots. It is A LOT of work, and as you said, not as simple as taking your 35 on vacation with you.
And I dont understand why people would really interpret that it is 'posed'. Isnt all photography posed to a degree? Its not like you close your eyes and shot whatever happens to be in front of your lens.
This kind of photography is like painting a portrait. You build it and assemble it carefully to acheive your vision (to the best of your ability, such as was mentioned with the publicist and fear of tabloids etc).
I applaud well executed photos such as this. Job well done!

I love this shot. I have been wanting to do macro insect photography for a long time, but was unable to afford a good macro lense.
I noticed you used a technique for your macro that I havent seen before...can you please explain this to me. Email me if you like, I would greatly appreciate it.

Good shooting Daniel...I love all your IR fisheye stuff...this one especially.
I might need your help in buying a new body...something that wont fog with IR.

This is Sam. This shot was one of many taken for promotion for a
short film I directed.
It was taken at dusk, and lit with several hot lights outside. All
of the foliage shadows were created.
Let me know what you think.

I love this shot. I love the color and the sheer mass of the clouds. I was wondering how exactly you took it? Bulb exposure? If so, how long?
