Off-center top was intentional. I feel pretty stupid for not trying a centered shot at all, but do you think it would work better?
-
Yeah, originality on this one is nowhere to be found. I was in New York for 3 days, mostly with 90-100 F temperatures, which gave me no chance at shots with blue skies. As a last resort, I was going for gritty industrial look, kinda like New York itself. Maybe I should try this in BW.

It was very cold that day...
:)
I like the contrast of the colorful gondola with the white/bluish
landscape. What are your thoughts?
Feel free to comment/rate this and other shots in my folders.
Thanks.

As was pointed out above, this is indeed a clutch pressure plate. I took the picture at the Toronto AutoShow. Volkswagen people have mounted a few shiny engines on stands, to showcase their new engine line, and I took a few closeups of interesting details. The area was lit by overhead spotlights which changed color every so often, and just happened to be pink at the time. Camera was on manual focus, no flash, handheld, lens at wide end. Shot was cropped from original.

This is actually a piece of car engine set up on the auto show. Pink
tint is from overhead lights. No digital alteration, just cropped.

Very nice! Glow/softness make this much more than a postcard shot. Well done!

This came out very nice, looks like a drawing rather than photo. I like the effect.

12/10/2001 - I uploaded a somewhat corrected version of the photo.

I would've liked the flag to be more spread-out, but the wind was too
strong.
The part directly in front of the sun is a little washed out, but
since i have a P&S, I have to make the best use of what i have.

Any comments/ratings/suggestions welcome.
Taken on a cloudy day to make sure the ceiling is not overly birght.
Digitally turned to B&W, color one had a greenish tint and I don't
think color adds anything to this shot anyway, only more distractive.

Let me know what you think of this photo. I chose to make it B/W to
remove the distraction of buildings outide the glass.

Spur of the moment shot, taken at 5 am, it was so cold i couldn't
sleep.

This strongly reminds me of the scenes in the Matrix movies with the green code scrolling down. Anyone else see what I mean?
Digression aside, a very strong photo. I like the central composition and the reflection. The unusual colors add to the scene.
