The small ponds in northern vt are the best places. Loons are very skiddish so if you want to get close lay down in a canoe with a camo cloth and wait , it will pay off. I found a pond in northern NH that is great for this.It is in Errol Nh called big Greenough pond.It is secluded but access is from the main highway and you can get the key to the gate in town at the gas station for a small fee. You will drive 4 miles from the gate to get there . The loons will cry for you every night.<div></div>
