I don't do much architectural photography. Composite image, see
details. Critiques and suggestions appreciated.

Henline Falls after heavy rains for several days.

T'was a rather dreary day last May. Exposure was aimed at keeping
detail in the snow. Composition? Does this image need to be cropped?
-
Shot May 2003. I thought the clouds were especially good that day.

The stitching is pretty good. The variation in the sky is to be expected with a polzrizer when used across a wide expanse; the effect naturally varies depending on the angle from the sun. It's an OK shot.

I agree that it's hard to see this as a portrait, but as street photography it is compelling; it seems to tell quite a story on its own merits. Good composition IMO, it includes enough of the subject's environment to keep the viewer interested.

Nice shot. My personal preference is for a bit longer shutter speed when shooting waterfalls, but I certainly understand that you may have run out of options in such bright light. Nice job of controlling the exposure so the water still shows detail.

With so much of the scene already in shadow, I'm not sure you would have improved it by less exposure; this was simply tough to get. Compositionally, I'd like to see it taken closer to the lake so the lake and reflections are emphasized more. Congrats on your real camera!

This photo was taken to test a new (to me) lens on a new (homemade)
lensboard and in a newly overhauled (by me) shutter. Used quite a
lot of camera movements to keep everything straight.

Shot at a bit more than 1/2 of life size, on 4x5 E100S. This is my
first effort at macro with the 4x5 camera.

An entertaining image, very well done.

Pinhole image made on Polaroid film which expired in 1989. Levels
were adjusted to compensate for contrast loss in the outdated film.
No sharpening or other manipulations.

Excellent exposure. The ribs receding in all directions focus the viewer on the subject while adding a sense of the large expanse around it.
-
Isolating the detail of these bay windows was a good choice. It maximizes the repeating element and excludes a lot that would be distracting.
-
Well done. A perfect example of success through simplicity.

The lighting on the top of the flower is very nice, but IMO the stem could use a bit of fill to set it off from the background.
-
Nice lines and contrasts. The only nit I'd pick is the nearest lamp would be nicer if not cut off on top.

I've been playing with this scene to try to learn the rudiments of
Photoshop. Comments appreciated.
