A "found" high-key image that took little work to clean it up
(although this is the best expression of about 10 frames...)
-
Steve, they were just there. Tampa Bay Yacht Club on Davis Island by the Lagoon.

I hold that the indirect light in Venice makes everything beautiful --
my wife holds that not all in Venice is beautiful, and she thinks
this image ugly (I just think it's somber). All in the eye of the
beholder, I guess. Very minimal PS for levels and curves.
-
Desaturated in PS7 (with channel mixer), some work in curves to help
contrast, then a super new plug-in called Focus Magic instead of
unsharp mask (www.focusmagic.com). The plug-in is great for fixing
the 'softness' of my Nikon Super COOLscan 2000 scans, which have
always been soft. Original image scanned at 2700 dpi, then resized
post-process to 800 tall in PS.

Part of a series (see the folder). After I finished my formal
orthopaedic training, I felt a need to give my well-worn operating
room shoes a ceremonial burial -- fire first.

Too cute!
Is the blur all real panning?
Is the lead dog a Frenchie?

flat light, colored white background

Very Rembrandt-esque! How'd you do you lighting for this series?

This is awesome, short DOF and all! Sometimes this is just the way I feel...

Good job with the panning. What was the shutter speed? Perhaps one stop faster would isolate the car better.

oil drops in a glass of vinegar?

The bathers are distracting from the form and color -- can you tell them to move?

I like the highlights and shadows in the foreground sand - adds another level to the typical sanddune photo.

I like the juxtaposition of the tree and the rock. When I was in Bryce, I was blown away by the color of the rock, but did not look to compare to ordinary things. The exposure for the background is nice, but I would dodge the tree some so we can see more of its texture.

the plane of focus should include the two foreground washers and the bolthead. The exposure and lighting is very nice.
Can you see the 50 foot tree? Standing in a water drop in front of you to see! (All natural taken outside)

I see the tree..so where in the reflection is the camera? Also, is watching icicles drip kinda like watching grass grow? Things must be really tough where it gets cold in the winter...
