  1. Thanks for the comments. I consider this shot be be one of my better "flukes". I had two shots left on my camera, and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time - and a train went past for me during the exposure! I was travelling light and had purchased a small plastic tripod only hours before! Thanks again I really enjoy the image myself

Wow! I am so jealous of people that manage to have their camera on them at moments like this. The number of times I see great cloud formations, storm fronts and the "perfect" lighting and my camera is safely tucked away at home. There is an intensity in this photo that I can't quite describe and certainly in my humble opinion is quite powerful. The lights in the bottom corner - love em and hate em. I do find them distracting, but yet they add perspective. Without them the shout would be just another cloud rather than a powerful brew rolling over a city.

All of you photo.netters out there, please check out my small humble collection, I'd appreciate some comments.

I don't see myself qualified to make a judgement on technical strengths. This photo to me is striking - I can feel the emotions that are protrayed - an open stance, upturned face, wind in the robe - to me you have captured and portrayed a feeling very very well.
  2. I must say after trying to shoot airshows myself, I've never managed a single photo worth getting excited about -due to position bad days, heat of the moment, getting too snap happy etc. Trying to track fast moving aircraft with a 300mm lens andtrying to keep focus is quite challenging. The shot is quite well composed - sure there are some flaws that other users have pointed out. The one thing I'd like to point out that makes Scott Eatons photo better is the background colour. Blue aircraft against a blue background don't stand out as much as the grey background that Scott has - but then again that's beyond you're control. Congrats on a pretty cool image!
