This an update of what has been going on so far. I mentioned my problems on the
Mamiya forum. Mamiya did not respond so far. I also complained to robertwhite.co.uk
where I bought my camera. They responded within one hour and offered to exchange my
backs for modified ones free of charge. This process takes 4 - 5 weeks. I am very
pleased to learn that Robert White is not only the cheapest, but also offers great service. I
will keep my system and will test the new backs - I'll keep you posted. Thank you all for
your input!

Todd, the 645e is not a problem, you're right, the buckle is in between frames. Unfortunately Mamiya did change their winning horse, and they exchanged for a bad one. The 645AFD, which is BTW a nornmal camera with both analog and digital back compability, has the buckles right in the middle of the frames. Yes: highly irrespondible. I used the 645AFD for my test. That's it for me, I will either exchange the backs for some modified ones, or exchange the whole setup, for which I spent several thousands of dollars, for a 645 Pro TL.

Sorry folks and thank you Bob! The problem is that I have a bug in IE, I can't see what I
write when I write it.

Sorry, my mistake, it was not selected for public view. Now it should work!

I don't agree, Todd. You can see my test results here: http://www.photo.net/photodb/

In the meantime I have made a test with Velvia 120, newspaper on the wall, 80mm at
f2.8. I shot three shots after a pause of 12 hours. Shots 1 and 3 were perfect. Shot 2 was
out of focus in the middle: vertical line of about 4mm *very much* out of focus. I can't
tolerate this and I will sell my rig. I will post a picture with this test later.

Thank you everyone for responding. I will do some tests in the coming week and let you
know the results. I will try 120 and 220 film. If the problem is really that bad, there is no
other solution than wasting on shot after the break. I believe it is worth doing that. If we
accept bracketing with .3 exposure compensation value we might as well trash some pics
once in a while to be sure the film is flat. Vasily- RE personal standards: IMO it doesn't
make sense to spend hundreds of dollars for first class lenses if one destroys the quality
of the lens back there on the film plane.

I've heard rumors that the Mamiya 645 AFD is having problems with film flatness when
the entire roll is not being shot in a single session. I've heard that the second shot after
taking a break in midroll is only good for the trash. Any experience with this?

They do not work. You can use the lenses from the 645 Pro TL, though. There's a
500mm there.

Try the Close-up lens of the Mamiya 6 instead. It works on the Mamiya 7 with the 80mm
lens

Do the lensboards for newer Linhof Technika cameras fit the 1955 Technika III? If yes,
which one should I buy, and where can I find them? Other brands that might fit? Can I
use recessed lensboards or just flat ones?
Mamiya 50/4 C Shift lens
in Medium Format

Who's experienced with the Mamiya 50mm/4 C shift lens? How is the light falloff? How
much shift can you use without noticeable falloff? How sharp is the lens when shifted?
Thank you for your input!
