I think it is a composite for four reasons: (1) the sun is too big compared to the surfer and waves in the foreground which makes me think there are two focal lengths at work here; (2) the waves in the lower left foreground are cool tones and the sky is very very warm -it's not like that in real life; (3) to get this kind of exposure (detail in the surf while shooting into the sun) you would need a grduated neutral density filter and the line between the sea and the sky seems too sharp to have used that type of filter; (4) shooting into the sun at that angle there should be a huge reflection in the water and there isn't.

Whatever, it's still a nice image.

The combination of photos creates a nice image.

Two things that would improve it for me would be reducing the size of the sun in the sunset to more natural proportions and to change to the color temp of the rest of the ocean to match the changes on the right side.

I like this image. I like the smooth water of the falls and the lights from the other shore streaming through mist. It's a very original view of Niagra Falls.

A couple of things you may want to considers are: (1) the placement of the moon is nice but the color is wrong - it should be much cooler in tone to match the rest of the omage. If this is a double exposure then there's not much you can do about it, if you placed it there with photoshop then think about changing the color.

    (2) the building on the far right is distracting to me, you might want to crop that out.

Overall I think it's nice image. Sure grabs your attention!

  1. I think you have fairly well executed but unremarkable image here. Clearly the model has a fine figure but I don't find anything in the pose or lighting that makes this image stand out.

If I could see the model's face or you were closer or you added something dynamic to the composition perhaps some an emotion or feeling or insight would be evoked better. As it is all I see is nicely lit round bottom in the middle of large grey square.

A great use of contrast here. The high local contrast in the 'face' of the truck helps keep my eye at the center of focus and the bent lower bumper makes it easy to anthropomorphise -- the truck looks saddened by its plight. The dodging on the left minimises any distraction by the background. Is there a small halo around the truck's right signal light?

    Very nice.

You have created a very compelling image! I can feel the intensity and focus of this fellow.

You've done a great job bringing the viewers focus onto this fellow. The line of the violin, the dark left edge at his shoulder and arm, the distractionless background and the light on his head and hands all lead my attention to his expression.

There are aspects of the image which remind me of renaisaince (sp?) painting.

All after only a year of photography ... I think you will get a great deal of satisfaction for a long time to come!!

    Congratulations.

    Congratulations on a wonderful image!

The lighting matches your model's form beautifully. I think the turned head looks coyly playful, or shy while also flirtatous and sensual. All of this is consitent with the model's apparent age, fine form and pose. For me, the lighting, pose, and the model's form all come together to create an evocotive photograph.

I might suggest two changes for the printing. Firstly burn in a little under her right knee secondly darken a little along the left edge of the print opposite her elbow and hips. This would add a little more balance to a wonderfully executed image.
