Your comments are on target I think - I wanted to post the photo pretty much as taken to receive feedback on how it could be improved; many of the thoughts posted here could be implemented with some photoshop finagling which I will experiment with... Thanks

Nope, this is not a digital manipulation. It is a single slide image. The sky was a strange overcast which made shooting a direct shot of the taj uninteresting, but made the reflection a bit eerie. A few minutes after this was taken we got hit by a sandstorm blowing up the river bed that trapped us on this side of the river for an hour.

Thanks to all the folks who have commented - I appreciate the kind words and especially the so-called nitpicks - its these criticisms that help me become a better photographer. This picture did appear in Pop Photo in Jan 2000 as a 2nd prize winner in their annual contest. I am now putting some of my photos on this site in order to receive constructive criticism rather than 'prizes' - the encouraging words and suggestions for improvement are worth more than a prize. Learning what a large number of people think about my photos is also helping me edit and construct a presentable portfolio. Thanks again to everyone who rated and especially those who gave criticisms.
