Starting to work with a new camera and lens. I like this one not just because she's my

daughter, but because I think it captures many aspects of her personality. What do you get

from it? Would appreciate feedback on the technical aspects as well, suggestions for

    improvement, and so on. Thanks.

Beautiful. Leonie is a lovely child, combined with the dog, this is a great shot. Been experimenting with sepia myself; clearly I have a lot to learn! Nice Job.
  1. #1 welcoming #2 to the world. Adjusted levels and contrast to highlight the

differences (#1 is blonde, #2 *was* brunette, but now turning blonde!). Hope it is not

as "deathly" looking as my first attempt -- according to some, anyway ;-)

  2. Well, despite all the perceived deathliness, I can report that the birth announcements were *very* well-received, and somehow people managed to figure out that we were all still alive. Not a Real Photographer in the lot, no doubt ;-) And not a one was edited and sent back with comments. Imagine!

  3. Please Comment & Rate. Almost overlooked this one (missed

flash; way underexposed) until my mother-in-law pointed out that

baby's hand "glowed" in the original. I decided to take that idea

one step further & boost saturation on her hand, while de-

saturating everything else. What do you think? Does it work? I'm

using this for her birth announcements.

  4. Thank you both for your constructive remarks. I was very pleased with it also, and was even thinking the same thing about DOF (go just to the edge of her eyes a little sharper). But I can live with it, I think.

I find it hard to take a bad photo of her, she's such a beautiful animal (typical of the Shiba Inu breed).

  5. Angus belongs to a friend of ours and is a frequent playmate of

our dog. This was taken after a long day of romping around. The

shot was a normal color shot but I wanted B/W so I separated

the channels and picked one that I thought was best (Green).

The shot was indoors; I used an external flash bounced off of a

    (pure white) ceiling.
