I would like see to a vertical frame with the tree at the left edge framing the mountain. Your composition reminds me of traditional Chinese art - flat with many elements. Different than a western landscape.

I like it because the close figure at right frames the window, and the ceiling over the window curves back above the smaller figures. So there is form and space, rather than random shadows. Even with all that, the neon sign gives it character.

Very creative and really seems transformed into a virtual landscape. My brain doesn't know what to do about the competing angles but my eye likes the corner-to-corner dynamics. Maybe try moving the center ridge forward so it hits the corners too.

Excellent - and you were lucky the red and yellow signs were there to add more new to the old-new contrast.
-
Nice combination of views and reflections and shadows. Far and close all works together.
-
Nicely balanced lighting and colors. Peaceful, quiet - good capture of the moment.
-
Classic portrait of a train in its surroundings. The corral fence and distant mountains and big sky look like the old west. Train is too dark compared to background.
-
I will try to find the right words: I like how you composed the image using the frame and kept the original surface appearance, instead of manipulating or exagerating technical aspects such as contrast or lighting or perspective.

This building probably looks very solid from the front, but here looks like stacked toy blocks.

So many allegorical meanings deserve consideration here. I see the strong style of the old masters whose subjects displayed a pious calmness in spite of their suffering. As for technical: (a) the light emphasizes the aloneness instead of providing comfort. (b) the bars are a heavy force in the scene and surround the model, but do not cover her or distract from her appearance

As great as the big landscapes are, I really like to look at this kind of picture over and over.
-
I like the full brightness range from dark foreground to light distance, which also adds to the feeling of being there - I disagree with the technical types who will say it should be evenly lit.
-
Just beautiful - nothing less. As for composition, I'm learning to decide what is the subject of my pictures. Here, if it's the sunset, then the mountain doesn't add anything nor the bottom foreground. Of course that purple mountain presiding over the landscape might be worthy of it's own picture...

it's amazing how the trees and sky colors lean left together, as if they were painted on.
-
In addition to the drama of the vaulted church, you captured the air: cool, maybe some candle smoke, damp, old. And the highlights from the windows don't overpower.
-
I always like the muted or sepia colors - this is nicely understated - it looks 3-dimensional due to the depth of field and the animal's markings - like a fine painting
-
many elements came together beautifully - fish in the mouth - bird legs in motion - facing ocean - grey ocean color perfect background for darker bird colors - bit of shoreline gives a foreground - diffused light of overcast day perfect for subject - photographer lying on stomach in sand ???
And I'm interested in what the Portra NC can do - I just started with it so I'll post samples when I can.

I love this kind of picture - abstract art by Mother Nature
-
good B&W subject - good exposure to make the black sky and white sand - you shot an excellent view of the fence
-
great-looking picture, the sharpness and the color makes it work, I wonder if a tripod was needed for 200 speed film ?
-
i like this very much - it has a presence - the attention of the viewer is well-focused - there is something happening in the picture and the viewer is allowed to be intimately close
-
tells it story as-is - i agree square crop looks good - but other changes are impossible - if sun was on distant building then it would not light door and window frame (sun can only shine one way) - if building was centered, again inside door & window frames with sunlight would not be visible (due to straight-on perspective)

great, great shot ! The parts are just a downtown waterfront at night - but the whole is great. The angles of the dark areas. The yellows. The soft blue sky opposing the glowing orange spot . Deep shadow / bright lights. Cool
