Melahn,
set the "film" speed as high as possible. With analog film 3200 ISO is acceptable for concert work without flash, 6400 is better.
A spot meter would help determine the correct exposure time. This photo looks like you could have exposed a stop shorter because the highlights on the guitar and his shirt are totally blown out.
If your camera doesn't go to ISO 3200, consider using a monopod.
Cheers,
Tobias

Thanks, Jamie!
Quoting Tim Rudman: "Lith printing is a simple but different Black & White printing technique, using ordinary B&W or colour negatives, a suitable black & white paper and Lith developer from which the process gets its name. It involves heavily overexposing a suitable black and white paper usually by two or three stops - and then only partially developing it in a highly diluted lith developer."
The entire article can be found at http://unblinkingeye.com/Articles/Lith/lith.html.
There is a number of further lith prints in my portfolio. Feel free to check them out.

Lithprint from colour negative. I'm interested in whether you think
the look works or not.

Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Maria,
glad you like the pic. I didn't use flash. Instead I pushed Tri-X to ISO 1600 and shot whenever the light was sufficient.

Let me know what you think.

Do you have a large version of that photo, too?
-
Lith print of myself. Let me know what you think.

Let me know what you think about the contrast-rich blown out look. The
negative does have a nice tone range but I found the standard print
too boring. I developed the pic very hard and liked the result a lot
better.

Lith Print of a newly opened retro-looking burger joint. Any feedback
greatly welcome!

Let me know what you like about this photo and what bothers you.

Shot in hard noon light with a red filter. Any feedback greatly welcome!

I'd be happy for any honest feedback. Tell me why you like it or why
you hate it.

What do you think? Does it leave you cold or does it do something for
you?

The picture is a bit blurred and the contrast is a bit too high. The motive is interesting enough, so you might want to try the same shot with a shorter focal length so you get a sort of fisheye convergence. Try to take it again when there's softer light (early in the morning or before sunset).

This might have been a good photo. Next time, try to focus on the soliders. There's too much grass in the foreground which leads to the soldiers being too far away and not detailed enough.
-
It's a lamp reflecting in a guitar headstock...it doesn't invoke any feelings in me. The contrast is too high and the headstock is one with the background. The picture might work better with a bigger tonal range and less lamp imo.

Please comment on composition and aesthetics. What about convergence?
Would you rather see the pillar straight?

Great picture! I feel the tighter cropping destroys a lot if not all of the atmosphere of the original picture. The sofa and window are essential to the vibe of the image imo.
