Wear a rubber glove and try again with just finger and thumb.

Sounds like a lot of weight......whatever the bag....
-
Have you thought about using a cat/rabbit/ferret etc. collar?!

I've read in Amateur Photographer here that until 11 May there's an exhibition of 90 images by greats like Joe Cornish, Paul Wakefield, and David Nixon, as well as Magnum's Ian Berry, Stuart Franklin, Mark Power, and Chris Steele-Perkins on the subject of "Climate Change in Britain's backyard". It's at Hooper's Gallery, Clerkenwell Close, London EC1. Or try www.hoopersgallery.co.uk, and it's free.

Well, it's my old college, and I must say it's good to see it over again - and again....
Thanks everyone!

On this apparent trip-of-a-life-time, did no-one think to take for themselves a simple manual film camera, eg Nikon FM2, Oly OM, etc as back-up for these (admittedly) digital marvels?
-
I also like it - clean and clear. (I could imagine a small improvement if the blue was replaced by a thoroughly restful mid-green....)
My 2p's-worth.

The trip, and the cash equivalent would allow me to take my wife too.

The trip. Of course.

I've got one of them, a black M7 - but I'm keeping it!!

Listening to BBC Radio 4's "Home Truths" this morning, I heard the
story of how an Italian with "an early Leica" took pictures of
Mussolini before and after an assassination attempt was made on him,
injuring his nose.
Go to

and click on the Listening link for more.

No. If the sensor were full-frame, then possibly yes.

For decent Chinese lookalikes, try e*ay for "Safrotto" satchels.
-
Stuart's right, though. Read the manual.

Trevor, I've been, but to judge from how and what you post on here, I imagine you may just find it a fun day out. Those lenses on loan, though, are quite useful to try out, but MK is fairly unphotogenic for a quick one-hour safari. At least you'd be with fellow Leicaphiles!

As Jerry says, Afzal, just T-I-M-E...
All the best,
Michael.

Dan,
those words were indeed set to music by Max Reger. Whether or not by anyone else, I wouldn't know.
Happy Christmas - just off to play the organ for our local Midnight Communion.

You had all these disasters and STILL came home with so many beautiful images?! Well done, I like your style: you have a keen eye for colour and shape. I hope you're pleased with this collection.

30 mins or so by train from Paddington.

M7 + 35/2 and lots of ISO 400 film. Because I know how it performs, and if I'm gawping at fresh surroundings, I just want to capture it , and not have spend time to weigh it up - what lens, what body, what film. First impressions count a lot to me. But then again, I'm an amateur who takes photos for pleasure, mainly my own.

To get back on topic, Huw - I'm near Bath, but couldn't manage any November dates.... Could do 10 or 11 Dec, if folks are willing to widen the choices.
Off topic again: 3 adjacent villages in my native Yorkshire, Liversedge, Cleckheaton, and Heckmondwike, are universally grouped together and known to the locals as Cleckheckmondsedge.

Can I obtain/buy a CD without having to subscribe? If so, please tell me how.
Thank you.

If you mean Leica's own (2-part, "cradle" and "cover") case, then yes my M7 plus 35/2 plus hood fits just fine. I dare say the 50 is little different, though I haven't tried.
HTH.
