Nikon just announced a $150 price drop on the D100 in Canada, which works out to around $100 US. That means the price is going to go down and you may even see some shady people start to promote the camera for less than a grand soon.
Also, Nikon just introduced the D2H, which means that there's a new "hot" camera for all the gadget freaks to go after. What does that mean? Less demand for the D100.
Finally, after Christmas, what happens to the prices of any product? They get cheaper, right?
So I would say that by the beginning of 2004, you'll see D100s for a lot less than they cost right now.
