there are actually 4 images in there... the body, the waves (lower left side), the stairs, and the water & rocks (which is the base of the image). but thank you. (;

if you're interested, i started with a full scan of a photo i'd taken of the rocks& ocean, using a waterproof disposable camera! from that, i just piled the other images on top. the rocks/water image is the only color one- the other 3 negatives were black and white, two from 35mm & one is a medium format.

this photo just looks busy. i'm of the opinion that photographs need a strong sense of composition- you should really think when you're framing your subject matter, and try to come up with a nice focal point & understand what you're featuring and why. to me, the original image didn't really have anything that snapped out at me- it seems very flat. my eye just kind of skims over it.

the color change just looks garish on top of that... it's like slapping some bright paint on a busy surface & hoping that will pop it into a good picture. despite the bright colors, it just feels very blah to me.

this isn't the worst photo i've ever seen, but it doesn't have anything special that i see.
