The White Rim Trail is a backcountry 4WD road in the Island in the

Sky District of Canyonlands National Park. The pictured sign of

Hardscrabble is one of the backcountry campsites along the trail. The

gentleman named in the caption was told that there was a Gift Shop at

the top of Murphy Hogback, another backcountry site on the trail. His

disappointment at not having a place to buy goodies was apparent when

we arrived there. Yes, I actually had this skeleton with me to do

just such a shot--this is not a manipulated photo.

This was taken in the late evening at Sunrift Gorge, right next to

Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park, Montana.

This was shot early spring just north of the Mt. Crested Butte ski

area.
