  1. That pin is for the Ricoh Program cameras. The mount/lens will sometimes be marked as

PKA/RP or any number of variations. The pin will catch on the AF drive hole on the Penatx

body and either not seat or bind up. I had this problem with an SF1 and almost never got

    the lens off.

Also, on some older third-party lenses the shield by the aperture lever was both longer

and wider than what Pentax used. (Pentax lenses, the shield is the same length or shorter

than the lever) This shield would cause interference when you tried to mount the lenses on

an AF body and would not mount on a power-zoom body as the contacts for the PZ would

catch on the shield. I had several older Vivitar Series 1 lenses that would not mount on a

    PZ-1 because of this.

  2. The tripod you listed is way too light duty. We have one that my wife uses with a digital

camera (1/2 lb) and I wouldn't mount my lightest 35mm camera on it. It is way too flimsy and

I would expect it to collapse under the weight. :-) But it works for a flyweight camera used

indoors to take pics of craft projects.

I would second the recommendation that you consider a used (ebay or local shop) tripod that

will hold at least 10#. I use a Slik 700DX for both my M645 and RB67 and love it. I think the

Slik 330 & 400 would also be fine if you replaced the head. Sunpak makes a couple of tripod

that are identical to the Sliks but seem to show up at a slightly lower price.

  3. I was looking for opinions or information on this lens. It is a Bausch & LombWide

Angle Lens 88mm f6.3 and came mounted in a No. 1 Kodak Supermatic shutter. It

seems to be uncoated but in good condition and has a serial #UF8XXX.

Any information about coverage, age or any comments from anyone who has used

    one would be welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

  4. I know that here in my part of Texas, ALL pawn tickets are entered into a database by

the local police that checks against items reported as stolen and if the serial # match,

somebody is in trouble. As for ebay, I have always assumed that the information there

would be given to whomever ebay decided to give it to. Since I don't sell stolen or

illegal items and don't buy things from sellers I have suspicions about, it doesn't

    really worry me.

  5. I bought the same scanner new from Buy.com for $300 about 2

months ago. I have a few compressed sample scans at:

    //home.hot.rr.com/vishteer/jeff%20images/

I have printed out @ 8x8" and 8x10"on an Epson 870 with really

    good results.

The included software is basic but works quite well. I tried

Vuescan and didn't get any improvement, just options and

hassles. Silverfast demo was nice but I can't see where

spending $200 for scanner software to add little function makes

    much sense.
