This image was taken 60 years to the minute, hour and day after Ansel
Adams made his most popular image Moonrise, Hernandez. Read my short
essay on the experience of making of this image:

The diagonal stems, crossing the photo from lower right to upper left are distracting. Rather than providing a geometric background, they clash with the horizontal stripes of the aluminum siding (other comment) and form a criss-cross background that makes the viewer lose the flowers. Generally flowers look best when set against neutral or very out of focus backgrounds. There are some on my website.

THis is an odd photograph--it is very grainy (intentional I presume) and the highlights are totally blown (intentional also ?) but it *looks* like an IR photo (which it can't be, given the film) The odd striated artifacts in the top right are distracting, but overall I think it creates a wonderful "country" feel. Relaxing and peaceful. Nice!

To echo: nothing is in focus. But the woman is beautiful, and the voyeuristic content is very high. Photography is a voyeuristic vehicle, so to have it so explicit is just challenging us for what we often aren't willing to see in ourselves.

Yes, I have seen that project--and marvelled at the changes, and the non-changes, in many of the images and locations. Hernandez has changed A LOT, and the road that I stood on to make this photo had so much traffic on it, that I doubt Adams could have set up his equipment and made the photo. It was a Wednesday.
I'm so glad a few people have viewed my essay, as I really enjoyed doing it, and hope to find another such inspiration.
