Was using the camera with the "Hi" (3200) mode, directly in b/w.

Mathias was talking to someone, but in the picture it seems (to me) he

was talking to the drawing, a guy dressed in red who reminds me the

idea of how Jesuschrist could be. Critiques welcome!

My uncle suffered of a hearth attack is sitting with his assistant,

who is observing him. Nikon D40 w/55-200 lens, "Hi" (3200) mode,

    underexposed. Critique will be welcome.

Very SE-AXY picture! The plane is very curious, and I like the b/w you chose in it. MAybe a wider angle lens would give the picture a more dramatic look?

    The Nopa Girl...

I like this picture very much. What attracted my attention is the way the model is seated. It seems she is sitting on a bike, with the two doors as the wheels. Then, the post treatment is also very well done (colors, shades...) And the lady by itself, of course!
  2. seems like the dancers are not dancing (not good), but love the doisposition of them. They separate light from darkness very well. Also I like the place from where you took the shot. And finally, like the b/w feeling. The grain is there!
  3. It seems to come from a movie. The weather seems to be quite cold, and this sensation is transmitted to me. I wonder who is he pointing at. However, he is in the center of the picture. I would like to have him more on the right hand side...
  4. I like this loss of negative (upper part, almost all in black). This makes your sight go to the old lady. It makes you feel like she's all alone, with her book. But she's not, there's also another man at the back. But she is so envolved with the book she does not care of wha'ts happening outside.

I do like even more the fact that the photohrapher explains us how this has been, some comments, and so. This makes us learn a little bit from each other. Thanks Doug!

I don't like the choice of IR film. Where's the point? You can havwe almost the same result with a 3200 film...

However I do like this street-photo by itself. Yes we doo se this girl is dancing and does not care if she is being photographed. And once again, yes we do see the grain which is just distracting.

Maybe if I just could see a little more background?

I like this 'doggy point of view'. We're so used to take photos from OUR poit of view, that this makes this picture original. I like the depth of field, but i don't like this children's face (sorry). It should be obvious that he's laughing and having fun and when you see it you think he might be shouting. But this is not your fault!

    Anyway, good shot!

  5. Clouds are too obvious, and makes evidence of the use of a filter (red?). This probably makes them too distracting! I think we should be looking at the road, and I was not, I was looking at the clouds

    But overall a good photo...

Very original picture. Seems like cropped from a whole class photo (but I guess it is not). nice to see the center girl is the only one looking at the camera. However, the other girls are too distracting. Maybe needs some (more) cropping? Keep on shooting!

Having this face hidden, makes this picture anonymous. It's not the picture of a beggar, but a picture of the society, or better, a critique of it. This is what makes the picture 'special' for me.

However, I too feel like seeing a snapshot. Could make a good picture in a Salvation-army-like webpage, but IMHO, not here.

This picture can say thousand words, yes, but you could have said them before seing it...

  6. Well... euh... Don't you ever do this again to all of us! How come can you do such amazing photos?! It makes us feel like beginners with an APS camera (and most of us probably are - maybe not with an APS camera...). Or else give us the kind of magic you have ;-)

I ve'also seen your portfolio. My 'serious' comment is: this picutre is 'bad' compared to the others (please notice I've rated this photo as 9/10), meaning that other photosare EVEN more superb than this one!!!!

    So: GOOOOOOOD JOB!!!
