I love the silhouette and the position of the woman and the bird, but in my opinion, the contrast of the image is a bit low. Also, the black 'bit' a third of the way down on the right hand edge of the photograph is distracting.

Caru (pronounced 'carry') is Welsh for love. As I'm sure you know,
Caru died on 11 April 2005 and only now do I feel ready to process
some of the images I took before she died.
I shot this portrait about three weeks before she died and it is a
particularly good representation of her character and our relationship.
I'd appreciate your comments, especially on the technical quality of
the protrait.

Dogs are a bit too far apart, so my eye keeps bouncing from one to the other

This was a lucky 'grab' shot as I wanted to have some good images of
Caru before she died.
I'd appreciate your comments. Thank you.

This is our older dog, Caru. Caru (pronounced 'carry') is Welsh for love. I wanted to name our younger dog, Cash, so we could have "Cash 'n' Caru", but I was overruled by my better half!
I hate to be anthropomorphic, but in this image Caru appears to be winking and saying 'Alright Mum?!'
Sadly, Caru had cancer (lymphoma) and her condition deteriorated after this photograph was taken and she was put to sleep on 11 April 2005. So I'm posting this picture as a tribute to her courage and character.
This photograph was taken on 28 March 2005 and shows Caru's sense of humour and love of tennis balls.

Thank you for your comments. I must admit that I hadn't noticed the mattress was on a slant....I'll pay more attention next time!

I was playing around with the reflections in my bedroom mirror and I
was intrigued by the subtleness of this self-portrait.

At the start of 1992, I had an accident that fractured five vertebrae
and two ribs and damaged one of my kidneys. This accident changed my
life. I spent long periods in hospital and eventually lost my job.
Losing my job, meant that I can now work with people who choose to
employ me for my skills and gives me time to persue other interests,
such as photography.
This image shows the visible scars of my accident.

Such a happy dog. Good capture.

I was enrolled on a People Photography course and our first assignment
was to photograph ourselves. In common with many photographers, I hate
having my picture taken: even if I'm the one taking the photograph.
So, I made several images which didn't involve anything too
recognisable. I've always thought that my feet were two of my best
features: if nothing else, they are very, very useful.
I'd appreciate your comments. Thank you
