  1. I'm looking at one of two lenses. The 105mm f3.5 & the 150mm f3.5. I've heard the former is sharper (and heavier) than the latter, but it would be nice to have something a little longer. I believe they're both the MC variant. What are the pros & cons of each?
  2. I'd feel weird taking pictures of a kid that wasn't mine or from someone I know. There are quite a few hills to die on in the field of photography & I'm not going to die on the one that says "Taking pictures of strangers is legally protected & there's nothing you can do about it".
  3. I personally use a mixture of the nikkor 35mm f1.8 and 50mm f1.8 on the D3200. On an APS-C sensor the latter has an effective focal length of 75mm. I would recommend the G version of that lens over the AF-D variant simply because modern optics are better than vintage. They're about the same price on the used market, so there is almost no reason to get the older one. It's worth noting that I don't do this professionally. I only do product photography to sell my gear locally.
  4. You're totally right about that. I need to invest in patience 😂. My definition of cheap in this case is less than $300. Still more than what I have paid for any of my film bodies (CL included) but it's still a decent range. For the 50mm lens I was thinking of adapting a Jupiter 8. From the looks of it, it doesn't have a rangefinder coupling so that remains a "maybe". The 7artisans 35mm f2 also fits that bill pretty well.
  5. I'm a total noob when it comes to rangefinders. I know the basics of photography, I just don't know where to begin with lenses. I picked up a Leica CL with the standard 40mm f2 and I'm really excited to use it. But the lens is a bit moldy & is due for a cleaning. The body appears to be perfectly fine though. What are some inexpensive lenses I could use while the kit lens is getting serviced?
