  1. I recently purchased the RS-60E3 for general use - night time "bulb" shots in particular. With the XT you need to hold the shutter release down - for long exposures this could get annoying! :) The RS-60E3 has a "lock" for the button so you don't have to hold down the remote button either, and you won't need to touch the camera which could introduce possible "shake" effects.

The RC-5/RC-1 wireless remotes need to be used from in front of the camera due to sensor position - at least that's what my research and discussions have proven. Not really a good option for macro work.

  2. Wasn't sure which thread of yours to reply in, so hopefully you see this. :)

I just received my Rebel XT kit today! I ordered from somewhere not too many people associate with camera equipment - Newegg.com! I buy a lot of my computer stuff from there, and they had a better price for the XT kit as well. Not a huge difference, but some. :)

  3. Thanks for the feedback everyone, exactly what I was looking for.

I would buy it new from B&H, but for that price I could also get the Rebel XT with Canon 18-55mm Lens and still have $100. :)

Although, I do like the fact of getting it new with warranty vs being the 3rd owner. :\

  4. Not advertising, I'm looking to purchase and wanted to ask the Canon

folks. Is this a good deal for a used 10D? The seller doesn't know

    the shutter actuation count.

    Canon 10d (excellent condition)

    - battery grip and 2 Canon batteries

    - Canon camera backpack

    - 512MB CF card

    - 2 Sigma lenses (28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 and 70-300mm f/4-5.6

    - manual, cables, software and battery charger

    $750

I'm looking to upgrade from my Minolta HTsi film SLR. It's probably

more camera than I know what to do with, but I want to learn.
