    Comments appreciated.

I used to post many images here, but not for a while. It'll be interesting to see if

members are active and positive in their comments.

    Regards

  1. Thanks David. very generous of you.

Any search on the web will reveal that the crypt contains the remains of Saxon kings. Maybe in the time between my visit and producing this gallery entry I became confused.

I hereby apologise to anybody who has made a visit as a result of my error, which has yet to be verified.

  2. Another excellent image Gerard. Not every piece has to be better than all the rest and this one continues your tradition of entertaining us with your fine work.

The mood of the work comes over as considered and quiet and the composition controls the viewers entry and passage through the scene. Achieving these is the mark of the artist. Well done again.

    Thank you for sharing.

  3. Just had a great weekend there myself. Sea air was bracing and the light was glorious. Might have bumped into you on the beach as a matter of fact. Will you be going back in the near future ?

p.s. I remember the tide breaking in the opposite direction, towards the beach as it were. nevertheless, a worthwhile capture and good use of your time.

You have done so well to produce this. I have visited the site several times and seen many similar images, but you have captured the emotion of the location and presented it so well. Congratulations.

You get your message over superbly. Excellent picture, geat detail in the shadows. One of those shots where you think "what the hell is that?". Dominance of the left mostly balanced by the highlight on the bottom right and the detail in the gravel.

Little over printed at the top on my screen, but I'm sure a print would be a winner.

    Thanks for sharing.

Gary "old slapper", I hauled myself, my gear including an intolerably heavy tripod up that bloomin' mountain twice in a week. The second time I camped in a blizzard on the summit. Not just an old slapper with one lens but a daft old bugger too!!

Just a minute Ian. Are you saying that all you had to do was poke the Pentax slapper out of the tent and the picture took itself, more or less? Ahh... that explains the prominent foreground.

Don't suppose the road is just 100 yards away as well?? Deceptive these mountain images. Works well regardless :-))

Excellent photo Ian. Like the plasticity of the image and the colouring of the mountain face. The background of distant mountains with their snow capped peaks provides a balance to the sharp foreground. Great depth of field for an old slapper and a photographer with just one lens. :-) The colouring adds great warmth to the image and makes it pleasing to the eye. Would have been quite different in monochrome and you planned it well.

Day after day, you?re producing nice images for the group. Well done.
