How sad for Jolene. Her expression makes me believe she knew what was in her future. This is a beautifully made photograph, I hope she doesn't find seeing it painful.

Thank you for looking and commenting.. Jolene was given all of her photos. I think it was not painful. I think she could not care less about the photos. She was unemotional. None of the others were this way. After she gave birth, all she had to say to me about it was, "the baby died". She has a previous child which the State took. Again thank you.

I looked at it completely uninformed and uninfluenced. As it is, Jolene does not look like a prostitute and drug-addict.

She definitely looks unemotional, but this might have been due to the photo, the relationship with the photographer ... Who knows.

Jim; Thank you for looking and commenting. Luca, I did not understand "apologies".. "Apologizing" for what?... Anyway, out of context it is not much of a photo because as studio photographer, I never did get right. Unemotional because of our relationship?? She had no relationship with anyone. The girls said her pimp was a violent guy. I saw him once and he gave me chills.

Apologies: not having read your explanation, I just viewed the photo for what it showed. So I missed the story. And apologies for wrongly recalling it from your portfolio.

Relationship: maybe there is some linguistic problem, provided that I'm not a native English speaker. I was mentioning the model-photographer relationship which is always established when e picture is taken. She is looking at you, and she surely is thinking something, and this is reflected by the picture. That's the relationship I mean. Strictly limited to this photograph.
