Interlude: A brief show (music or dance, etc.) performed between the sections of another performance.

While photographing this sunrise, my main focus was to the east for the rising sun and to the west for the alpenglow. To the south, however, was a brief display of strong sidelight color. Just as I exposed the first frame, my memory card was full. I didn't want to take the time to edit, then delete. Meanwhile, I had left my bag some 40 yards away. I knew the light was probably fleeting. At 50 years old, my wind sprint days are long gone, yet I believe I completed the round trip in under 12 seconds. My best 40 yard dash in High School was 4.8 seconds, and that didn't include grabbing a flash card from a camera bag. The change of cards probably took longer overall. I think this was worth the investment of time and the loss of breath!

Very, very nice. It can be hard to shoot rocky formations, but I think with the vegetation and sky color it worked out very well. Also think that the rock formations in the middle help the features as well.
