Final touches: The GimpThis version shows a lighter sky as suggested by Carlos. The original was darker, as one may guess ;)

The apparent ease of the little girl, alone, contemplating such massive scale is the story here, is what makes this picture strange unexpected and quite unique.

I love everything about it but the title. I think it's a picture best without a title. Also the grey/blue, the light and tone of the sky, seems ominous, somehow doesn't seem to belong with the spirit of the scene - as I see it, anyway.

I am pleased to see this one caught your attention.

I have spent about half an hour following the footsteps of this little sweetie.

This is perhaps the only moment she stood still for more than a few seconds! Such an energy!

I agree about the title and I tend to name my photos increasingly less these days...

The reason for this is the unintentionally restricting effect of the titles...

The sky, as you have pointed out, was one the problems I faced while processing this one.

It was not clear, it had no particular "character" and it was basically showing the effects of air pollution.

I did make it just a bit darker hoping to add some tension to the scene.

Perhaps a brighter treatment would suit better...

sure enough Bulent - a brighter sky is the way to go.

About titles: to give the proper title to any given image is a delicate thing, and there are no fast rules. The only thing I find I need to avoid (in my own work) is to influence the viewers experience, or rather 'direct' with words the viewers experience, about the actual picture. It's essential to allow the viewer to fill in at least part of the narrative. In this fine picture, for instance, the child is obviously too comfortable, actually never appearing to be lost.

I love the patience you describe, the time you took stalking the little angel, just waiting for the right moment. And you succeeded.

Many thanks for your comments on this photo, which I like very much!

Carlos,

I understand your advice about selecting a proper title for the image.  (I envy our friend Jack McRitchie in this regard). She was indeed quite comfortable! I just thought the viewers would be inclined to regard her lost.
