David, I enjoyed your fall photo. A very scenic and peaceful view. Well done. Fall is my favorite time of year, I wish it lasted longer. Take care.

Fantastic work David. My first thought is "very painterly". I really love the variety of muted colors. This is heading to my favorites!

Great shot David. It really highlights the beauty of fall and I found myself being crawn into the picture. Very mesmerizing. Greetings-Jim

I love the autumn, it never lasts long enough. This is so lovely. I love the way the river or lake glows softly with light, it gives a peaceful feel to the whole image. Wonderful, I love it. All the best, Linda

Hi Linda, and thank you very much. Fall is my favorite season too - so beautiful, but amazing how hard it can be to do it justice photographicaly - at least for me!

Best wishes, David

David, here is why I love this image so: I bet this scene is not normally very attractive - sort of a mixture of saplings and detritus, and maybe trash left by humans . But the way you have constructed it, I see many beautiful tones and light, and a beautiful composition which accents all that. Wonderful work.

Hi Liz - Thanks for your insightful remarks. You are basicly correct, in that I will sometimes utterly destroy an image, before rebuilding it step by step to conform to a vision not entirely true to nature - but to my own aesthetic interpretation. That said, there is no cropping or cloning here, but just a careful consideration given to each color's tone and luminosity. The composition had to be there regardless of course. I did think the original scene was quite nice - thankfully there was no trash to clean up!

Best, David

As soon as I saw it i said that is a 'seven something rating' - natural colors and well composed. Not much more to add except to say "Beautiful". Of course you know, there is an anon 4/4 - I don't believe this image is "average".
