LenMarriott 9 Posted September 8, 2002 These little rascals marked the passing of the snow & with it the tenacious cold of last winter. Now after a long, hot summer one looks forward to a little cooling off again. Gotta love this temperate climate. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted September 8, 2002 The grain of the 800 has imbued the image with a wonderful texture - painterly. I truly thought this was some sort of photoshop construct. Beautiful detail, great colours - what you need is a blanket of snow under that cluster for a great b/g and the best of both worlds. Link to comment
don_harper_the_edge 0 Posted September 19, 2002 I really like the texture of the crocus petals. They appear to be painted, one can almost envision the brush strokes. Nicely done. I guess it's the film speed (800) and grain that's creating this effect? Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 29, 2003 That's really something, I've never thought to use grainy film in that way. Very cool. I really like the use of color in this shot as well. Again, nice use of cropping. Derrick Link to comment
mattvardy 0 Posted January 11, 2004 This is a magnificant example of the creative uses of an 800 ISO film. Awesome, love the effect! Thanks for the inspiration! Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted March 4, 2004 Len, you were lucky to have still enough conditions for the 1/2 sec exp. Out here on the coast there's always some irritating little wind. I like the composition- slightly relaxed, like a casual portrait. Shooting in low light seems to bring out the best in blue and purple flowers. And I agree with the other comments regarding the grain. Nice one. Link to comment
