I got this crazy idea. I wanted to make a white photo with white

background and white subjects because I find this so much harder to do

than 'ordinary' still lifes. Maybe it's not very original - but some kind of a

challenge for me. The only thing done in PS is a little ajusting of levels.

Comments welcome - if you can see anything in the white picture (-;

Wow...great composition Bente. I especially love the shadow around the vase. Congrats on an outstanding composition. By the way...this image attracted me so much that I played with it a little. Out of courisity I did an "invert" in Photoshop and it turned out lovely. Just for kicks, I'll attach it here for you. I hope you don't mind that I played with your beautiful image. Gary

I love the high-key effect. This is a beautifully composed and lighted still life. Sometimes simple really is best. Congratulations on a very good photograph.

First of all, I think your idea was good and the challenge is real.

Lighting-wise, this is beautiful and I believe you have met the challenge quite efficiently.

Below are some little points for your consideration:

I might have preferred the flowers at slightly different levels (one higher)...

I see a pinkish hue overall (a cast?) on my monitor.

The frame is certainly not distracting; still, its absence would not detract from this photo, either.

Hello Bente

Looks very good I think you wanted the lilla colour cast. I have tried this white on white as well I read the idea is to light your background 1stop more than your subject. example Vase would be 125th/F11 and the background 125th/F16 otherwise the background looks grey. You need to be careful that the light from the background does not bounce back on your subject. Best is that you have a larger distance between both. I tried this with white background and shirt as portrait. http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=9832174 I think I have two much light bouncing back. I have only just started with lighting so really no expert. Regards Carl
