Lumbini, Nepal. The sign here says that this structure encloses the

precise site of the birthplace of the Buddha. Inside, there is an an

excavation, perhaps 2.5 meters deep, that reveals the stone with which

he first made contact upon entering the world. Although the Church of

the Nativity in Bethlehem is more ornate, the presentation here is

remarkably similar to Bethlehem.
