Mount St. Helens from Windy Ridge (Crater Obscured by Clouds)

robertbrown

Shot in late afternoon. Used an red filter and Ilford SFX for muted infrared effect, should have had a tripod. Excuse the crappy scan. Developed and printed in my home darkroom. Contrast readjusted in photoshop to match print.

Comments, ratings, suggestions appreciated on this b&w, semi-infrared

(Ilford SFX) photo. This was taken on a very windy day (it was on

Windy Ridge, so what do you expect?). I used a red (25) filter. I like

the clouds a lot. This is a working print--I plan to re-print later

this fall a series of these. I'm considering cropping this some.

The final print will be bleached and toned copper, so the contrast

will

be accentuated some. Thanks.

This is very nice. The clouds are perfect. I would try a different crop. Take out a little of the bottom and make it a panorama. Nice!
