pietje 0 Posted October 16, 2009 Hi Jim, A great photo of white Ibis. The breaking wave creates in combination with the blue of the sea a perfect background to bring the bird in center of attention ... no need of trickery here. You did a hell of a job in handling the white tones to keep detail and structure. To get back to your own comment, I see no reason a photo should be better or worse with or withhout cropping. So perfect? To be honest .. but it's a personal matter I guess The heavy border ... I can live with it, but the SO obvious name in HUGE letters (it can, OK, but keep it discrete, the picture should stay the main message), and the even worse numbers on the frame I don't like at all. Not ment as personal critique in any way, but it attracts sooo many attention that is all loss for your great picture! Piet Link to comment
Stock-Photos 1 Posted October 16, 2009 Thanks for your comments Piet. I avoid cropping my own pictures for a few reasons, which I explain here: http://photo.net/photodb/user?user_id=215599 I put my copyright and contact info in the borders so that people who wish to purchase rights to use my photos (many people have done this via my photo.net images) can contact me. No contact info, no sales. Link to comment
katherinemichael 0 Posted October 29, 2009 This is one of the most interesting photos I have seen of an Ibis. I love the colors and the turbulence of the water. Regards, Katherine Link to comment
amandak 0 Posted January 9, 2010 I really like this picture, especially with the waves crashing. Very nice. Link to comment
