Children in rural villages in Nepal form a human shield to prevent

vehicles transporting tourists from passing until they pay a fee for

passage. Our driver and guide negotiated the fees and I gather the sums

were relatively modest. However, later in the trip we encountered three

drunken and armed soldiers. Those negotiations were a lot more tense.
