bjcarlton 0 Posted October 15, 2009 I like the contrast of rectilinear forms with the flow of the human. The colors of the stone and the person are kind of interesting, too. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted October 15, 2009 I often say if you like something yourself, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. That said, I do like this too. Link to comment
bjcarlton 0 Posted October 15, 2009 Ah, you picked up on that. I have this theory that if there's any subtlety in an image, lots of folks (not you) here on PN will miss it. I find that I get more useful feedback (or, let's be honest, any feedback at all) if I explain what prompted me to take, and post, an image; such explanation directs people's attention to what I'm interested in their reacting to. Otherwise, I've found the critiques here pretty useless. So that's the method to my madness. And thanks for taking the time to look, rate, and especially, comment. Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted October 15, 2009 I do like the rectilinear background against the flow of her hair and forms of her body. The photograph is composed and lighted well. I would have liked it even more if there had been more depth-of-field, at least to the ends of her hair. Link to comment
bjcarlton 0 Posted October 16, 2009 Good points. I took some other images in the same session that I really would have liked more depth of field on. This image was hand-held; I suppose next time I'll try it with a tripod (though it could be a challenge getting the camera right above her like that. Hmm. Calls for some ingenuity. Link to comment
Elstad 9 Posted October 16, 2009 Love the POV here Barry and your 'models' hair goes perfectly with the tiles. Bravo! Is this the new pool or hot tub surround? Link to comment
bjcarlton 0 Posted October 18, 2009 To answer your question, here is an image that will give you some context. This is actually a short stairway to a garden area. The gray area to the left is the top of a low wall that serves as a bench. Link to comment
