Christal1664882414 0 Posted October 14, 2009 Please tell me if you like this effect. And can someone please tell me which category I should place this in? Thanks! Link to comment
thistleandthat 1 Posted October 15, 2009 i like the effect. it looks sort of like denim which is also very American. i would put it in still life/studio or abstract. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted October 15, 2009 Christal.... As I sat and pondered this one, trying to come up with a description of what it means or brings to me, I came up with "blue jeans". Dang it, then I read Bama Girls post and she beat me to it. The treatment is well suited to an abstract flag image. If I did anything further, it might be to vignette (slightly) to keep the eyes centered on the flag. The bright edges can let the eye escape off the main element. Well seen though... Mike Oh yes, I would consider anything this close and personal to be a "portrait". But then, I get sorta mushy about the flag. I guess most would put this in "abstract". Link to comment
photo by patsy dunn 1 Posted October 15, 2009 Christal, I have never seen our flag photograghed like this, this is a very unique shot. Well done, and thanks for sharing. Regards, Patsy Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted October 16, 2009 Thank you for supporting this photo, as it doesn't seem to be getting very much elsewhere. :-) It's funny.....sometimes one of my photos I don't like very much will get surprisingly good reviews from PN members......but then there is a case like this when I really like it and nobody else seems to. It's okay....I can take it. ;-) Mike, maybe your idea to vignette the corners would help.....it's a good idea. And is there a way for me to change the category on this and still keep the reviews? If so, someone please advise. Thanks! Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted October 16, 2009 Christal... I don't know of any way to change without reposting. I don't mind if you lose my comment if you need to. As for PN tastes, I haven't figured that one out either. I had a very nice b/w recently (well, at least I thought so) that didn't get but one or two anon raters (low at that) and zero comments in 24 hours. I pulled it but haven't given up on it as an image. Give this one another shot.... Mike Link to comment
f1_young 0 Posted October 19, 2009 What an interesting capture of our grand old flag. The texture is unique and captivating. Thanks, too, for the comments on Helping Hand. Keep up the good work. I always enjoy seeing what you post. Link to comment
