thadley 15 Posted October 13, 2009 Brad - a lovely shot and up to your usual high standards. There are others in your portfolio that grab me immediately but not this one and i am not quite sure why not. This has lovely light and various tonalities but I suspect I would like to increase the mid-range contrast (not overall contrast). Remember that it is fine image and my comments are subtleties and an artistic opinion. Link to comment
bradkim 8 Posted October 15, 2009 Thank you, Tony, for your very kind and considerate comment! Your point is very valid! I tried to improve the tonality and contrast a bit, and re-posted the revised version. Hope you like this better! Link to comment
stageharbor 0 Posted November 24, 2010 Brad,I have a feeling that this doesn't work as well as your other images because it is out of balance--the left side of the image is relatively light and the right side is relatively dark. Ideally the viewers' eyes should tend to follow a path--a diagonal, an s-curve, or in some cases the viewer should be "pulled" toward the center--often by having a lighter area in the middle and darker areas toward the outside.Cheers,Bill Link to comment
