Hi clemson, this is a very beautiful girl who have lit and photographed very nicely. The only thing that bothers me is the picture frame behind her, you have this beautiful woman with very intense eyes, but I am distracted by the strong black lines coming out of her head. 6/6 easily without the frame.

@Nicholas

That is a fair assessment. I'm not sure I feel the same, but I do see your point. I appreciate the time you took to look at my work. All these comments have helped me improve greatly over the last year.

Thanks.

This is a great photo. I agree with Nicholas that the picture frame in the background causes it to look a little busy back there, but I don't think that it detracts much from the photo over all.

The lighting is beautiful and the B+W conversion works very well here. Very nice!

I'm not sure how to do this with PS, but I would have shot this with a very shallow DOF (f 2.5), that would have blurred out the background but you would still be able to know that this was shot in a bedroom, which in my opinion gives it its "punch"

I think the frame works well in context with the presentation frame. It takes on a mirrored look. Well done.

Wonderful clarity, beautifuly composed and exposed, bravo.  What lighting are you using here Clemson .. not bounce flash is it .. ?

@John

Yes, it is simply a SB-600 bounce flash. I learned the technique mostly from you! Your inputs in the past have done wonders for my knowledge. Thank you.

Thanks Clemson,  I thought I recognized it, maybe I have a narrow perspective of things, but I find this lighting above so superior to many of those complicated setups some people use. Of course, it doesn't work every time, but when you get it just right as above, I find it incomparable in effect.  It's really as if you are now standing  in the room ... excellent once again, bravo, and many thanks for the feedback.

@John, I can't agree more. The bounce flash (at times) produces such an incredible effect. Especially when you have to travel and need a small and compact lighting ability. In close quarters (like a small room in NYC) it can't be beat.
