dude, this is really cool. It looks like one of the religious candle holders with six or seven arms, except this candle is quite big. I like your attention to your surroundings that you catch moments like this. Cheers, Micheal

Proof that the moon landings were all a hoax. Now we know the moon is stored on a giant candle holder in Fresno. Took me awhile to figure out that the odd building in the foreground is moving, and indeed appears to have running lights, like a truck. That, I suppose, is in preparation for your famous earthquakes. You central Californians are very clever folks.

Thanks dude. That looks like a moon, but the truth is that we have this giant eternal flame right here in my town. We don't tell very many people though. :-)

We are quite clever. And when we do get that earthquake, these trucks are all programmed to take the valleyite diaspora to San Diego. Can hardly wait. Fear it, amigo.

I've always thought of you as presenting what is. I mean by that that your approach is often so solidly and cleverly straightforward, relying on the very ironic, humorous, politically correct and incorrect world to reveal itself to you so that you can reveal it to us. Here, you've presented a seeming, the seeming stillness of a rapidly moving vehicle, the architecture of traffic. It's a really very effective photo. I don't often go off on daydreams like this in public, but I see the elegant facade of Liberace's piano with a very long candelabra attached to it, two twin potted palms in the background. OK, enough, see what your imagination does to me! At least there's a fence and telephone pole and wires so I believe it's you who took it ;-)

I'm at my best when I'm on the road, but I haven't been on the road much lately. I've photographed my small town to death, but I was running an errand and this huge friendly full moon was arising and it just begged for someone to take its picture. The cell phone tower aligned itself, and, even though the scenery was not ideal, at least a truck rolled by to add a little earthly generated light and sparkle. Plus, I liked the contrast from the fenced in dirt to the freedom of the road. I didn't know if I should be playing, "Don't Fence Me In," or "On the Road Again."

A fortuitous gathering. A mundane scene made magical.

Although I like the star of the show, I'm particularly taken by his groupies, that twosome behind him shaking their pom-poms.
