Snapper fishing promomotional image.

John G.

The neg is perfect. Perfectly overcast light although the image was not shot in exactly the best light there was that day. The first scan came back noisy and out of focus(!). When I called to complain, the scan operator told me that the image was shot with a point and shoot, and that there was little they could do. Well, that doesn't exactly inspire confidence in my professional capabilities. But after I schooled the operator a little, I got back a good scan. The focus is on the fish and the fore-rocks, everything behind them goes soft. Perfectly soft. Shot with a 24mm Canon lens.

that I can never predict how my images appear on the Photo.net. This one looks rather dark.

OK- this is closer to the density of the print, but not quite.

I pre-visualized and created this image. Perhaps because it was pre-

existing in my mind, I took a long time to decide if it was what I

wanted. I figure that any shot that has selective focus, near/far

composition, and a tilted horizon has to be good. But what do you

think? Your comments are appreciated.

I could put in some numbers, comments about exposure and... But the fact is "I just like this!" It works for me. Excellent promotional image and Idea!
