Who was that masked man?

Indeed, a strong portrait made stronger by your handling. The long line of his arm stretching out conveys that he takes a lot of psychological space wherever he happens to be.

Very cool shot. Your approach makes him larger than life. He is handled boldly. It almost feels like a collage of strange elements to go along with him, the fog (?), the rooftops and tree branches, the bench or wooden structure he leans on. Nothing except him (and the tattoo peeking out of his tee-shirt) is terribly clear, nor does it have to be. Even the shadow from his sunglasses obscures his face just enough. Many moods are suggested here, mostly with light defining the expression even more than his actual face.

Thank you all for commenting. I just posted this last night and was surprized to see so many comments today. I am glad that everyone likes it, I do to. (I am ignoring the threes of course).

Jeff, this is my son and he does take up of lot of psychological space. I think you know that he is a singer/songwriter, performer, in one of his lives, and a VP of Marketing in another. Excuse me while I brag shamelessly.

Fred, thank you for making my day. I have to tell you that your work has influenced me quite a bit. The background is just trees, rooftops, clouds that have been blurred a bit. It's good to hear from you.

Best wishes,

Linda

I love the very, very black background surrounding the t-shirt. Congratulation on a very fine image and son.

All of the high praise of this image is well-deserved. It's a wonderful image, Linda......great lighting and a strong, bold portrait of your son. I'm sure he's quite proud to have you for a mother as well! :-) What kind of music does he write/perform? Please email me when you have the chance.

Linda,

This is another great image. His pose, backgroud & expression are priceless. I love the black & white, that really makes it special. You have a very handsome son. Well done. Regards, Patsy

Superb portrait of your son Linda. Excellent choice you made to do this one in b&w. The hard contrast really adds character to the image.

All the best,

Neil

Wonderful shot, Linda. He has a kind of James Dean quality about him.

The lighting and composition are wonderful.
