This is an interesting and unique shot. What struck me immediately were the matching colors and patterns of the grate and her shirt. It's a very nice image. Do you share these images with the models? David

lovely shot and interesting composition.

I lowered the blue and green levels a little bit, and increased the reds a tad, then masked to get a more "healty" skin color. Then I made a composite of all layers, and blended it in mode multiply at 12 % oppacity to increase the depthfeeling in the model's face just a little bit.

I liked the result.

But, anyway, it a great photo, and I guess my approach could be a matter of personal taste.

It"s not ment as critique, but you asked for feedback, so I just give my opinion.

Dale,

You did ask for a critique... This is in the portrait category, so I will critique it as a portrait.

Taylor is a very pretty girl with beautiful eyes. I love her french manicure. She has applied her make-up very well. It matches her casual attire. You have focused very well on her eyes. She has very good eye contact with the camera (viewer). I am not real sure she communicating much with her expression. She does seem relaxed.

The arcs and rectangles of the background and the squares of her blouse make for a very interesting array of shapes. The colors match very well. I am afraid all of this draws attention away from Tayor. You want your subject to stand out in a portrait. I believe her skin tone would be more pleasing if it was a tad warmer.

You can see her eyes very well, but it still would be nice to have catch lights. The lighting is very flat. Judicious use of shadows can create a nice illusion of depth within your photograph. Looking up her nose is perhaps not the best angle for this shot.

I would not crop half of her left hand off. You want to avoid having the flat of the hand towards the camera, anyway. The edge (side) of the hand towards the camera is thinning, feminine and graceful. There is a string at her right armpit that should be removed.

Your advertising is not part of the photograph. It might be better placed on the back of the photograph. You could place your name and date on the mat, though.

Nice shot,

Mark

Thanks dale for taking it very positive ... as it was ment.

Unfortunately I can't figger out how to insert an image in a post, even after reading the explanation several times (I don't speak English).

Piet, I'm interested in your revision, especially how you did it. After you type your message 1) click the proceed button (as you have been doing), then 2) confirm the text (as you have been doing), then 3) after your confirm and the comment has been submitted - stop there. There will be a box to allow you to upload another image, just as you would do so for your own images. It must be no more than 650 x 650 and you must insert a caption (a title). then 4) click on "upload". If this doesn't work, tell me your language and we'll find someone to discuss it with you. It is useful to know. David
