The Guardian

Taken at Arlington Cemetery. I didn't notice until I printed the shot

that it appeared as if the tree was keeping watch, shepherding the

grave sites, keeping the peace. Any/all critiques are welcome, thank

Stunning work, Allan. Excellent use of monochrome and grain. I love the juxtaposition of the geometric shapes of the headstones compared to the organic shape of the tree. Probably the only thing I'd do to improve it would be to lower the contrast on the "Harold Henry" headstone, just to make the text a bit less distracting. I'm nit picking though... it's still a fabulous shot. Well done!

Although Scott I like the fact we can see Harolds name on the head stone, it provides a human element is an other wise washed out onsalught of dead solders.

I like the fact that the headstones fade away, giving the impression it will never end, war dead that is.

The framing of the tree is very well thought out.
