I think you must feel it looks a bit awkward or you wouldn't ask that question. There are a couple of things you might try to make your photograph look a little less awkward. You have cropped quite far into her head which usually implies a very tight crop on the bottom. A little cropping on top would help your composition.

Her hand is bent back quite far. Notice the bulge on her wrist above her band. Your subject should have more room in front of her than behind. This allows her to be facing into the picture, not out of it. You want to compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph.

If not making eye contact with the camera (viewer), the eyes should follow the line of the nose. If they are looking to the side the viewer does not know what she is looking at. This can look rather awkward.

This is not awkward, but I would like to see catch lights in her eyes to make them come alive. Her complexion is very nice, but she has a scar above her left eyebrow that you may want to remove. Her shirt could be toned down a bit. You have lost some detail in it and it kind of draws attention away from her face.

She has beautiful skin tone and specular highlights on her lips. She did a great job applying her make-up. Her expression is very nice. The background is well out of focus.
