stoatsngroats 1 Posted October 26, 2009 These are my thoughts.... It's a lovely image, with a strong central 'hook'. I really like the position of the gull in the frame. The 'V' shape of the wings flow equally into the image, until the almost solid black head.....it's a kind of 'STOP' for the eye. For me it's a single, quick, view (nothing worng with this...just trying to show how I see your Gull!). It looks also, as if it's a crop from a larger image, and it's a bit 'soft' - how could you get a crisper image..? I'm sorry if this sounds negative - I'm not trying to be a snob, or condescending! Please, let me know what you think of my comments! Best Regards, Shaun Link to comment
anne_jouhtinen 0 Posted October 27, 2009 Hi Shaun, thanks for your comments, they are really good. I enjoy of getting response, you make it politely and in a wonderful way, don´t worry! It´s true that this shot has been cropped from a larger photo and it´s sharpness is not good enough. I had a chance to photograph seagulls from a distance (without a stand of course, unfortunately) and they were really quick and fast flyers! This bird was a quite small one in the original shot so I wanted to take a closer look at it by cropping. I deal your opinion about one look shot without any deeper interest, I admit. I just love the lines and colors. Next time hopefully better catch! With the stand and bigger lens. With best wishes, Anne Link to comment
